In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus said " For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth." Matthew 12:40
In the Gospel of Mark, it is recorded that "Now when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene,from whom he had cast out seven demons." Mark 16:9
The chart shows why that in Matthew, the Jewish calendar was used whereas for Mark, the gentile (Roman) calendar was used instead. To the Jews, the day begins at evening and ends at morning according to Genesis 1:4.
